Athanasios Andreadakis

Athanasios Andreadakis

Athanasios Andreadakis was born in Rethymno, Greece in 1960. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Massachusetts, USA and a Postgraduate degree (MBA) from the Newshampshire College, USA.

After employed in the U.S. banking sector as loan officer, returned to Greece and joined Citibank N.A. in 1998 serving in various positions, until 1996 when he was appointed Vice President.

He joined Bank of Cyprus in 1997 as Deputy Branch Manager, B.C. Manager the following year and served as Area Manager of Attica District between 2001-2004. Continued leading Corporate Banking Operations in Greece in 2005-2006, when he became Credit Risk Manager.

Later, in January 2008, was also appointed Deputy General Manager, Bank of Cyprus Greece.

Since September 2009, Mr Andreadakis obtains the position of General Manager Risk Management.

  • Andreas Eliades holds a degree in economics from the Athens School of Economics and Commercial Sciences (ASOEE) and an MSc in Economics with distinction from the London School of Economics.
  • Joining the Bank of Cyprus in 1980, he was appointed Country Manager in 1991with the establishment of Bank of Cyprus Greece, becoming Group General Manager in 1998 responsible for business growth.
  • In January 2005 he was appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Cyprus Group. A member of the Bank of Cyprus Board of Directors since June 2006.

  • Yiannis Kypri studied economics at the London School of Economics on a scholarship, passing his degree with distinction in 1974. He returned to Cyprus in 1978, working as a Chartered Accountant at international auditors Ernst & Young before joining the Bank of Cyprus Group in 1980, becoming Group Chief Financial Officer in 1982. From 1993 until 2004 he was Group General Manager Finance.
  • On January 1, 2005 he was appointed Group Chief General Manager.
  • He was a founding member of the Cyprus Public Companies Association, serving as its Chairman for six years. He is currently the Chairman of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and a Trustee of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre.

  • Christis Hadjimitsis studied economics at the London School of Economics, passing his degree with distinction. He began his career with accountants Peat Marwick, Mitchel & Co London (now KPMG), returning to Cyprus in 1985 to work for the company for the next three years after qualifying as a Chartered Accountant specializing in banking and financial services.
  • Recruited by the Bank of Cyprus n 1988, from 1995 he was Group Financial Controller till January 1, 2005 when he was appointed Group General Manager Finance. In February 2008 he became Group General Manager Finance and Strategy with responsibility also for Mergers and Acquisitions. For a number of years he served on the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Public Companies Association and as a member of the Advisory Committee of the Cyprus Stock Exchange for the FTSE/CySE20.

  • Nicholaos Karydas has a degree in Business Administration and an M.Soc.Sc. in Accounting. From 1980 to 1982 he worked at the Central Bank of Cyprus before moving to Deloitte Haskins & Sells, where he remained until 1986, also qualifying as a Chartered Accountant during this period. From 1986 until 2004 he worked at the Central Bank of Cyprus where he held various positions including Manager of the Domestic Bank Supervision Department and Internal Auditor of the Central Bank.
  • He joined the Bank of Cyprus Group in November 2004 as Group General Manager Risk Management.
Ioannis Pechlivanidis

Ioannis Pechlivanidis

  • Ioannis Pechlivanidis graduated Wesleyan University, USA, in 1976 with a degree in Economics then went on to complete a Masters Program in Economics at LSE, UK in 1977. Mr. Pechlivanidis’s career in banking dates back to 1980 when he joined the First National Bank of Chicago, working as Senior Regional Credit and Marketing Officer in Athens, Abu Dhabi, and London until 1989. Following a one-year stint as Deputy General Manager and Senior Credit Officer at the Bank of America, in 1990 he joined Xiosbank S.A., heading up its Consumer Credit and Consumer Business Departments in Athens before being appointed General Manager. From 1999 to 2002 he served as Managing Director at Novabank S.A., Athens, later moving to EFG Eurobank subsidiary Banc Post S.A. Romania as First Vice President, followed by a six-year tenure (2004 – 2010) as Vice Chairman and Deputy C.E.O at the National Bank of Greece S.A. In May 2010 Mr. Pechlivanidis was invited to join the Bank of Cyprus as First Deputy Group CEO.
